Updates
✨ New Features
🌐 Explicit language setting for the status badge
We added a new window.statuspalWidget.lang option that lets you set the language of the status badge explicitly. Use a primary language code (e.g. 'en', 'fr') to match your page’s language.
Previously, the badge would automatically use the visitor’s browser language, which could lead to it appearing in a different language than the rest of your site. Now you have full control over which language the badge displays in.
💡 Improvements
💬 Better error messages for SMS subscriptions with unsupported countries
When a subscriber tried to sign up via SMS from a country not enabled in your Twilio geographic permissions, they’d see a generic “Failed to create subscription” error, which is not very helpful. Now, StatusPal shows a clear message explaining that SMS isn’t supported for that country and directs the subscriber to contact the status page administrator.
We’ve also updated the Twilio documentation to make it easier to configure which countries your phone number can send SMS to.
🐛 Bug Fixes
📱 Phone numbers can now be reused after canceling an email subscription
When a subscriber with both email and SMS channels canceled their email subscription, the associated phone number was incorrectly locked, preventing them from re-subscribing via SMS with the same number. This is now fixed, and phone numbers are properly freed up when an email subscription is canceled.
